Just checked out the 1939 classic Jimmy Stewart film Mr. Smith Goes To Washington. I really enjoyed the tenacity and charisma of Jimmy Stewart playing a young Junior Senator from an unmentioned prairie state.
After Mr. Smith goes to Washington, DC he quickly tries to pass a bill to give a park to a group of scouts from his state called the Boy Rangers but after being falsely accused of trying to make a profit from the land the park will be constructed on, Mr. Smith goes on a hardcore binge on the senate floor and speaks for 23 hours about political responsibility.
Wow, if only politicians were as dedicated and honest as Jefferson Smith.
Awesome movie, 9/10!
