A War Movie Worth Seeing

I checked out a movie that I've been wanting to see for a long time now called Beach Red. It was released in 1967 and stars Rip Torn. If you liked Saving Private Ryan and The Thin Red Line from 1998 you will like this film. I wont tell you why specifically other than stating that you will come to understand where both Spielberg and Mallick got their inspiration from and that's all I'll say about that.

I did not however like the flashbacks in the film, they were campy and distracting but seeing is how Beach Red was adapted from a 61 page prose written by Peter Bowman, I still think it is pretty outstanding.

Beach Red will loose points for the flashbacks but still a great film overall. 7.5/10.
